Today is my blog’s 1st birthday!
When I started this blog a year ago, I had aspirations of becoming a runner and losing a ton of weight. Shortly after my 30th birthday, I started training for my first 5K using the Couch to 5K plan, but was not able to complete the program. That didn’t stop me from attempting my first 5K in September 2011.
I hit the restart button on my weight loss journey in January 2012, and since the beginning of the year I’ve lost a total of 12.8 pounds!
Some highlights of the past year include:

Purchasing my first pair of running sneakers

Suffering from a beer-related injury
Starting my “What’s in the Crockpot?” series
Improving my time in the 2011 Manchester Road Race
Celebrating my 7th Cancerversary
My first Turbo Kick class
While things haven’t gone exactly to plan, I am in a better place health-wise than I was a year ago. I can’t wait to see what the next year has in store for me. Thank you for sticking with me and all of your support!
