I spent last weekend in Cape Cod with P’s mom, sister, aunts and a few of his female cousins. Since I am close in age with his sister and cousins, I spent most of the time chatting with them. I don’t remember how it came up, but we started to talk about our personal mantras. P’s cousin, Emily, said something that really stuck with me – her personal mantra is “Get there!”
If you want to buy that pair of shoes, get there!
If you want a new job, get there!
If you want to start a family, get there!
If you want to lose 20 pounds, get there!
If you want to get married at the Chatham Bars Inn, get there!
If you want to run a 5K, get there!
It’s true – you just can’t wait around for things to happen. If you want something out of life, you have to go after it and make it happen. The possibilities are endless, and the only thing that stops you is yourself So thank you Emily for my new mantra – GET THERE!
